When the workflow needs its own interface.

Sometimes the underlying systems contain the right information, but the people doing the work still lack a useful workspace. They move between screens, keep their own status lists or ask colleagues where a process has reached.

A business application can bring the relevant records, actions and context into one experience. ECH02 builds these applications around the tasks and responsibilities of the team, using an existing technical foundation where it fits.

Begin with the operational journey.

Before choosing screens, we map the work. Who starts the process? What do they need to know? Who takes over next? Which information is shared, and which actions belong in an existing application?

That produces a clearer application scope than a long list of desired features. It also helps distinguish a small operational interface from a complete new system. We consider both against the value and effort of extending the tools you already use.

  • Work queues with owners, visible states and a clear next action.
  • Role-specific views of the records and decisions people are responsible for.
  • AI-prepared proposals with supporting sources and human review where required.
  • Explicit workflow rules and routes for missing information or failed actions.
  • Connections to existing applications that remain part of the process.

These are possible directions for a project. The particular roles, features and integrations are established through the agreed scope.

Bring the application and workflow together.

Our approach combines application development with reusable flow components, a composer and a shared data model. We design the interface and execution rules together: what a person sees, which evidence they need, which action they may take and how that decision moves the work forward.

We identify which existing components support the project and which parts need new domain logic or development. Reuse provides a starting point. The design still needs to reflect your terminology, operating rules and system boundaries.

A specialist application we have built

ECH02 has built an AI-driven dental practice management application covering booking, declarations, the clinical workspace, an AI scribe assistant and an operator assistant. It uses a canonical, archetype-based approach and connects with ZorgMail and VECOZO.

The transferable capability is the breadth of the build: a specialist workflow, shared information, different workspaces and external integrations within a complete application. The details of a new application are designed for its own business context.

Define the first useful release.

A first release should support a coherent piece of work from arrival to confirmed outcome. We agree the roles, records, review points and exception routes, including the history needed to understand a decision. We test those paths with the people who will operate them.

Data access, deployment, documentation and ongoing responsibilities need to be part of the project agreement. We also distinguish commissioned application work from the reusable foundation and third-party components when discussing licences, handover and support.

Choose the smallest useful intervention.

A new application is one option. If the main problem is information moving between tools, a connected workflow may be sufficient. If incoming material is the bottleneck, begin with document processing.

Our guide to connecting, extending or building provides a practical way to compare those choices before committing to a larger project.
